The old power plant "Kraftwerk" today serves as a eventlocation and also houses some bureaus. This chair was used for a quick chillout in the sun by the people working there!
What you see here is a Live-Composite shot of a LED floodlight. There were many insects flying around this light. So I decided to try to capture their motion. As I looked at the result I was blown away! Cou can clearly see each flap of their wings. I really love the chaotic lines of their paths!

Oh my gosh... he was fast. Faster as my own camera movement. Unfortunately all shots had some unacceptable motion blur in it. But I was curious to see what Lightroom could do with this 4 shots, taken in burst mode. After some fiddeling around with the panorama merge function, this is what I got. I'm really suprised and happy with the outcome - enjoy!

He was completle exhausted from one of his first trips to my balcony. After fifteen minutes of hard work by picking up even the smallest crumbs of todays left-over birdfood, he relaxed for a while in the sun with his eyes closed :)

What a surprise this morning... Suddenly we heard loud goose screams. A look into the garden and out of the window... no goose there. I just couldn't find the source of the noise. A look out of the skylight up to the gable gave me the answer. These two sat comfortably there and talked loudly.

What a suprise today. I went for a little hike today in order to get some nice winter photos of the local birds. I found a nice place where I could get closer to a spot where some birds were digging up the ground to find something to eat. So I was kneeling down behind a hedge and took some photos when this beauty showed up out of thin air. I tried my best not to move (and to breathe). He did not see or recognize me for a long time. He calcmly ate some leaves and small twigs and slowly walked around the hedge I was hiding behind. Carefully I turned around to him and for a very short time I had this unobstructed view. Thank you handsome roebuck for this wonderful photo!

Finally we arrived at the "Kaiser Franz Josef Höhe". From here you have an breathtaking view!
On the Mountain Pass of the Grossglockner you could easily stop at every bay to take an incredible photo. Recommended trip 5/5!
This lake has can store around 3,2 Mio. m3 Water. Its located at the foot of mount Großglockner in 2000 meters above sealevel. In the upper right corner you can spot the road to the next stop!
A quick stop to enjoy the view at the small cabin in "Palik". Next stop - Glacier!!!
The small village of "Heiligenblut" is located in the high valley of the High Tauern at the foot of the "Großglockner" mountain. The catholic Parish Church you see here is a famous landmark.
The Passo Stalle is a one-way ride controlled by a timed traffic light system. Right after you cross the border line from Italy to Austria, the "Obersee" reveals in its beauty.

Bamberg is a lovely city. Not only because of its beer culture, but also for the beautiful mix of water, historic buildings and nice people!
Limewood relief made in 1523. Originally glazed in honey yellow and with painted details on the figures, this piece of art unfortunately was coated it with a dark brown glaze at the end of the 19th century... Nevertheless - still impressive!

These wonderful, intelligent and beautiful creatures were one of the highlights on my Madeira trip. The group of wild dolphins we met on the open ocean were playing with us! As we parked our boat the curious animals came to us, jumped out of the water and watched us as we watched them. As we accelerated the boat to drive away they swam close to us and sometimes jumped out of the water as you can see on this photo! This was quite a bumpy ride and hard to get some good photos... but here is my favourite!

Would you believe me if I tell you that this photo was taken about 5 km away from the magical forest you can see in my earlier shots?Here you see the open highland of Madeira. The wind is blowing quite strong from the cold northern side of the iisland up to the highland. Thats why there are many wind turbines like this one up here. In 2013 they produced over 46.2 MW of energy for the population of this beautiful island!
I knew I have to get to this old and dead tree in middle of this thicket! It was a really surreal landscape here. The white dead branches within the brown bushes were exeptional.I hope the struggle was worth it :)

The Magic Forest in Fanal is one of my favourite places of Madeira. Here you have fog and clouds most of the time. Sometimes the sun manages to break throuh here and there and creates these wonderful mood. The high humidity (of 100%) is great for the moss which grows everywhere!
Madeira is very famous for the so called "Levadas". These water canals were built to transport water from the rainy north and highlands of the island to the dry and sunny southern areas. There are more than 2000km of levada canals on the island. There are many Levadas with wonderful servicing paths aside which are great for beautiful walks!
Madeira is famous for its many banana plantations. They taste very delicious when they ripe - not like these green ones :)
With boats like these the fishermen of Paul do Mar go out for fishing. I really like the faded and repaired blue colour.
The lighthouse in Ponta do Pargo was inaugurated in 1922. It is 312 m above sea level, directly at the high coast on the western end of Madeira.

...An adult bald eagle’s 2 inch long talons are capable of exerting a force of 1,000 pounds of pressure per square inch... That's about 700 kg/m² for us metric people out here. Not the worst hunting tool out there :)

This was my first time to set my alarm clock to 4:50 AM on a sunday morning. I really wanted to take a picutre of this beautiful place on sunrise. This is the new train station in the east of Lisbon.In 1994, the station was proposed as part of the modernization of the Linha do Norte, a modification to the rail line to facilitate the future development of an Oriente station. Die barocke Colomanskirche liegt bei Schwangau in Bayern. Sie entstand in ihrer heutigen Form im 17. Jahrhundert auf einem Vorläuferbau, der zu Ehren des heiligen Koloman errichtet wurde. Der irische Pilger soll im Sommer 1012 bei seiner Pilgerreise ins Heilige Land an dieser Stelle gerastet haben. Die Kirche ist wegen ihrer Lage am Fuß der Schwangauer Berge und der Nähe zum weltbekannten Schloss Neuschwanstein eine der bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten Bayerns.

This sad looking polar bear made me see the dark sides of a zoo again... It is a wonderful thing to get to see so many wonderful animals right in front of you without having to go out in the dangeous wilderness. But mostly we disregard flowers like this Daliah because of it's imperfect look.You can easily transfer this situation to us humans. Beauty is defined by symmetry and perfection. But isn't it the imperfection that catches our interest?

One of the many old and historic greenhouses in the gardens of palace Ludwigsburg. I really loved the calming atmosphere of this hat. The colours were beautiful, but would distract from the calm feeling. That's why I took the colorizing way!
